Dead by Daylight’s Latest PTB Update Reveals New Characters’ Perks — What Are They?

Dead by Daylight's upcoming Resident Evil Crossover is now playable in the game's Public Test Build (PTB).

Behaviour Interactive's latest PTB update to its asymmetric survival horror multiplayer game has revealed the unique perks of the characters to be released in its upcoming "Project W" chapter, which features three characters from the Resident Evil franchise.

Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil: Project W was revealed during the game's sixth-anniversary broadcast on May 18 alongside its "Attack on Titan" crossover outfit. It was also announced alongside its spin-off visual novel, Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Datin Sim, which is now available on Steam.

Dead By Daylight: Resident Evil: Project W Features

Behaviour Interactive revealed in Dead By Daylight's promotional videos and pictures that its latest Resident Evil crossover chapter, Project W, will feature former STARS Alpha team leader and long-time series antagonist, Albert Wesker. He will be joined by STARS Bravo Unit team medic Rebecca Chambers and series femme fatale Ada Wong.

With dead by Daylight's updated PTB, Behaviour Interactive has revealed the unique perks the three characters bring to the game.

Albert Wesker Perks And Powers

Albert Wesker, whose appearance follows his look during the events of Resident Evil 5, is known as "The Mastermind" in-game.

Wesker's power, Virulent Bound, allows him to leap over obstacles and infect survivors with the Uroboros Virus from Resident Evil 5, giving infected survivors the "Hindered" status effect, reducing their movement speed over time as the infection worsens, per VG247.

Should Wesker hit a critically infected survivor, Wesker can automatically carry them.

Survivors could clear their Hindered status using the first aid sprays hidden inside several crates scattered on the map.

On the other hand, Wesker's perks allow him to see and chase down survivors, as well as keep them hurt and down when the match reaches a certain point, per the game's PTB 6.2.0 patch notes.

Wesker's "Superior Anatomy" perk allows him to chase survivors better by vaulting through windows faster when a survivor performs a fast vault within eight meters of him. Meanwhile, His "Awakened Awareness" kicks in when he is carrying a survivor, along with him to see the aura of the other survivors within a certain distance from him.

Lastly, Wesker's "Terminus" perk activates when the gates are powered and/or open, preventing injured, downed, or hooked survivors from healing themselves and others for a set amount of time through "broken" debuff.

Ada Wong Perks

Meanwhile, Ada's perks allow her to act as a support survivor or as the last possible survivor in a match if need be.

Interestingly, her appearance follows her design in the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

According to DBLTap, Ada's perk, "Wiretap," allows her to install a spy trap that stays active for a set amount of time whenever she repairs a generator to 33%. The spy trap will reveal the affected generator's location to all survivors and the killer if they are 14 meters from it.

A killer could destroy the spy trap if they damage the affected generator.

Ada's second perk, "Reactive Healing," allows her to heal other survivors faster if they are hit by the killer while she is nearby.

Lastly, Ada's final perk, "Low Profile," gives her the ability to hide her scratch marks and pools of blood from the killer for more than a minute if she becomes the last survivor.

Rebecca Chambers Perks

Finally, Rebecca's perks allow her to keep other survivors on their feet or in the fight if the situation turns grim, per Dual Shockers. Her first perk, "Better than New," provides a buff to an injured survivor that she healed, giving them a 6% speed boost to generator repair, healing, chest opening, and totem cleansing for a certain amount of time.

Rebecca's second perk, "Reassurance," allows her to give a hooked survivor more time on the hook. If the hooked survivor is in the struggle phase, the perk also pauses the Struggle skill checks.

However, Rebecca's "Reassurance" has a 40-second cooldown, which makes it a desperate measure for desperate times.

Finally, Rebecca's third perk, "Hyperfocus," allows her to repair generators or heal herself or other survivors faster through earning tokens that create more skill checks with faster cursor speeds and bigger rewards for hitting a great skill check.

However, should the player fail a skill check or stops performing the necessary action by any means, the perk will lose all of the earned tokens.

Dead By Daylight: Resident Evil: Project W Release Date

Dead By Daylight: Resident Evil: Project W will be available sometime in September, according to the game's Year 7 Roadmap.
