[RUMOR] Genshin Impact’s Nilou Is Coming in Update 3.1 — Here’s What You Need To Know

Nilou could be among the characters next in line to be released in Genshin Impact.

Dataminers have recently uncovered that Nilou, one of Genshin Impact's most awaited characters following the release of the game's Sumeru region, may be available in its next update.

Nilou was prominently featured during one of the initial Archon quests in Genshin Impact's 3.0 update.

Genshin Impact Nilou Details

Dataminers who have datamined Genshin Impact following its 3.0 update have discovered that Nilou will be a sword-wielding Hydro user similar to Kamisato Ayato.

Nilou, who is officially known as "Dance of Lotuslight," per HoYoverse's tweet, is unlike most sword users. Instead of utilizing a five-hit sword attack, she will only perform three sword attacks in a row, per PCGamesN.

Meanwhile, her charged attack will have her execute a stamina-consuming twirling slash.

Her plunge attack acts similarly to the game's other sword-wielding characters, dealing area-of-effect damage upon impact.

However, Nilou's elemental skill is similar to that of Ayato's. Her elemental skill, Dance of the Seven Realms, makes her enter the Pirouette state, allowing Nilou to deal Hydro damage to opponents based on her max HP, per PC Gamer.

During this time, Nilou will be unable to perform charged attacks or Lunar Prayer.

When in the Pirouette state, Nilou's normal and elemental attacks will make her enter the Sword Dance and Whirling Steps stances, respectively. On the third dance step, Nilou will come out of the Pirouette state.

During Sword Dance, Nilou will create a watery moon that deals Hydro damage to opponents in front of her. It will also grant Nilou the Lunar Prayer, which converts her normal attacks into Sword Dance techniques, with the final hit unleashing a watery moon.

On the other hand, using Nilou's elemental attack will put her into the Whirling Steps state, unleashing a water wheel that deals AoE Anemo damage. It will also create a "tranquility" effect that follows your character, applying the "wet" status to nearby enemies, similar to Barbara's elemental skill.

Finally, her Elemental Burst, Dance of the Lotus: Distant Dreams, Listening Spring, will create a Lotus of Distant Waters that will bloom, dealing AoE Hydro Damage based on Nilou's max HP, while applying the "Lingering Aeon" effect to any hostile it hits.

Hostiles with the effect will take Hydro damage periodically, acting like a bleed effect.

Passives And Constellations

Nilou can double the food you're cooking when perfect cooking is achieved if she is selected to cook. However, it isn't known if her passive is exclusive to healing, attack-enhancing, or defense-boosting food.

Her Court of Dancing Petals passive will only work if she is in a party made up of Dendro and Hydro-wielding characters. If this is achieved, Nilou's elemental skill will grant the "Golden Chalice's Bounty" effect that will last for 30 seconds.

The effect will increase elemental mastery by 60 for ten seconds when hit by a Dendro attack. Triggering the Bloom elemental reaction will also create "Bountiful Cores" instead of Dendro cores, which have a larger AoE when they burst. However, they cannot trigger the Hyperbloom or Burgeon elemental reactions.

Meanwhile, Nilou's constellation focuses on enhancing her elemental skill, burst, and the effects of Golden Chalice and her attacks, while her elemental skill is active.

Her final constellation increases her crit rate and crit damage for every 1,000 points of HP, with the maximum attainable boost being 30% crit rate and 60% crit damage.

Nilou Ascension Materials

Unfortunately, ascending Nilou to Level 90 once she is released is impossible. Nilou's ascension materials consist of Varunada Lazurite from Hydeo bosses as well as Padisarahs and fungal spores.

However, you will also need a new material called "Perpetual Caliber," which is not obtainable in the game's current state.

This new material can only be farmed from the Blightdrake boss that will be added to Genshin Impact in the next update.

As for Nilou's talent ascension materials, you'll need to stock up on Teachings of Praxis, Fungal Spores, and Tears of the Calamitous God, which are only obtainable from the Raiden Shogun Trounce Domain, per Game8.

Nilou Release Date

It is unknown as of press time if Nilou will be a 4-star or 5-star character. However, it is speculated that Nilou will be available on Sept. 28 if she falls in update 3.1's first phase, or on Oct. 12 or 19, on the update's second phase.

If true, Nilou is probably a five-star character since she has her own banner.
