Rocket League’s Halloween Update Brings Iconic Villains Like Chucky to the Game

Rocket League has embraced the spirit of Halloween with its upcoming update.

Psyonix announced that Rocket League's Haunted Hallows event would soon return, featuring Halloween-themed game modes that bring classic horror movie villains like Chucky into the game.

Rocket League players can participate in these events and acquire the rewards they bring by mid-October until early November.

Rocket League Halloween-Themed Events Details

Psyonix mentioned in its announcement that Rocket League players could enjoy two Halloween-themed game modes from Oct. 19 to Nov. 1 as part of the game's Haunted Hallows event.

These game modes, which are Spooky Cube and Heatseeker, are played exclusively in the Farmstead (spooky) Arena. Players who complete these game modes can earn Golden Pumpkins that they can open after completing challenges.

Rocket League players who would choose to play the Spooky Cube can expect gameplay similar to the game's Super Cube game mode, but instead of having a regular cube for a ball, it will be a cubic-shaped Jack-o'-Lantern, per Game Press.

Additionally, the game mode comes with increased ball speed and random bounces, giving players a good challenge while having fun.

Meanwhile, Heatseeker is a game mode where players must defend the ball until it reaches their opponents' goal and explodes. However, the ball will home into their own goal if it hits their opponents' backboard instead.

Alternatively, players who touch the ball can have it barreling toward their opponents' goal.

Unfortunately, both game modes are not available at the same time during the Haunted Hallows event. Spooky Cube is available to be played from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26, while Heatseeker will become playable from Oct. 26 until Nov. 1.

Rocket League In-Game Rewards During Haunted Hallows

Playing the two limited-time game modes is worth it, though. The Golden Pumpkins players earn after every match can be exchanged for items from the Velocity, Triumph, and Auriga Item Series.

These Golden pumpkins act like Golden Rewards, and as such, players can complete an event challenge five times to earn Golden Pumpkins. After which, they can open them from their inventory and reap the rewards waiting for them.

These rewards include vehicle parts featuring designs inspired by some of the villains in various popular horror movies. These parts include Jigsaw Blade wheels, Sam's Treat Wheels, and Chucky's Good Guys Wheels.

Players can also earn decals with designs inspired by Leatherface and Billy the Puppet.

For players who want more Halloween swag, the Item Shop holds Halloween-themed player anthems to choose from. These anthems are:

  • Chucky's Laugh Player Anthem
  • Halloween Player Anthem
  • Hello Zepp Player Anthem
  • Leatherface's Chainsaw Player Anthem
  • Trick or Treat Player Anthem
  • You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween Player Anthem by Muse

Each of these player anthems costs 300 credits, so choose wisely!

Lastly, the Item Shop comes with the Billy the Puppet Goal Explosion which comes with an 800-credit price tag.

However, those who just want a free souvenir from the Haunted Hallows event can go to the Item Shop and get their own "Sole Survivor" Player Title for free.
