Redmond Has Isolated And Identified The Issue Which Caused The Outage
Following reports of connection problems from users, Microsoft has been looking into the outage that affected numerous Microsoft 365 services.
"We've identified a potential networking issue and are reviewing telemetry to determine the next troubleshooting steps," the Microsoft 365 team claims in a Twitter thread.
The tech giant narrowed the issue down to networking configuration issues, and it has been researching the best mitigation approach to deal with these issues without having a negative impact.
On the Microsoft Azure service status page, the Azure team posted more details about this problem, Bleeping Computer details.
The company discovered that the problem with network connectivity affects devices on the Microsoft Wide Area Network (WAN).
This affects connections made by clients to Azure over the internet, as well as connections made by services in datacenters and through ExpressRoute.
It can be remembered that during the outage, the Microsoft Azure status page, which sporadically shows "504 Gateway Time-out" failures, also had problems loading for some users.
