More Concern, Less Excitement on AI Advancement

In a blog post written by Pew Research Center, the organization noted that Americans feel more concerned that excited about the advancement of AI. Specifically, 52 percent of the American respondent stated that they are more worried while only 10 percent of them expressed their excitement. On the other hand, 36 percent admitted that they are having a mix of feelings with the progress of AI.

Pew Research also cited that the growing concern is a result of the increasing public awareness of AI. For instance, nine-in-ten adults have heard about AI, which is a huge increase from the center's data from December 2022. People who have heard more about AI are most likely to be concerned about its impact rather than become excited.

Currently, big tech companies such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google, have been continuously working to improve and develop their AI tools to help both individuals and organizations, worldwide.

AI Remains Helpful in Daily Life

Despite of the increasing worry over AI, most people still acknowledge that AI is capable of helping people navigate their daily lives. This includes online shopping, manufacturing safety, and health care.

On the other hand, people are still wary and cautious on AI's impact towards privacy and public safety. This comes valid as AI companies have been facing serious allegations against copyright infringement and data privacy issues.

Overall, with AI establishing its presence in the modern life people would always have something to worry about or be excited about. Public notion is still developing and may vary depending on each situation.
