Now on Epic: Program for Developers

Epic Games laid out its plans to bring older games to the story by incentivizing developers. Under the new program, the developers will receive 100 percent of the net revenue from user spending on eligible products for the first six months. Once the product exceeds six months of availability on Epic Games Store, the revenue will revert to the original 88 percent / 12 percent sharing.

"Releasing back-catalog content on the Epic Games Store helps reach new, incremental audiences and ensures that the content that our players are looking for can be consistently discovered," Epic wrote in a blog post.

The program is open to developers and publishers with registered Epic Games developer accounts and eligible products that launched before October 31. Participants must commit to releasing at least three products that have been published before October 31 and is currently live on other third-party PC store.

Epic Extends Digital Distribution to Developers

Epic Games has currently over 230 million players and 68 million monthly active users globally. The company has been creating various programs to help developers experience an opportunity to boost their revenue and at the the same time help Epic reach more gamers.

For instance, the company also introduced "Epic First Run" which is an opt-in six-month exclusivity program. Likewise, the program is open to both developers and publishers with registered Epic Games developer accounts and with eligible products that will launch on or after October 16.

Aside from reaching a larger global audience, Epic also aims to allow developers to have access to product lifecycle tools such as self-service discounts, seasonal sales, and even weekly discount programs that fit the developer's commercial strategy.

The Now on Epic program will be open until December 31, 2024, and all eligible products must be released on the Epic Games Store by June 30, 2025.
