Nintendo Launches Kirby Plushies for McDonald's

According to the announcement, the first collection will run from February 23 to March 8, while the second run will begin on March 1 with no specific end date yet.

The first series will include three pink Kirby plushies and one orange Kirby plushy. On the other hand, the second series will feature three different pink Kirby variants and one yellow Kirby. Nintendo also prepared different poses and facial expressions for each toy.

Aside from partnering with the fast food chain, Nintendo also expanded its world of Kirby by opening a Kirby cafe in Japan, hoping to introduce the cute character to the food industry. Kirby was also featured on the Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios theme parks.

Nintendo's Kirby Popularity

Nintendo debuted Kirby in 1992. Since then, the pink and round character has become popular among fans due to its nature to be cute, attracting the majority of female gamers.

In addition, the character has been the subject of various 2D and 3D games. Last year, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror made its debut on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service, providing players a chance to enjoy its multiplayer feature.

However, some fans have reacted to the collaboration announcement by requesting the plushies to be available in other countries like the U.S. and the U.K. Previously, Nintendo partnered with McDonald's which featured special Pokemon cards.
