MGM Resorts reported that state and federal regulators have started probing into last year's cyberattack that cost the casino $100 million in third-quarter revenues.
The casino promised to respond to further inquiries to the investigation "in due course," according to its regulatory filing obtained by Reuters.
The announcement comes after nearly six months since the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it is investigating the incident.
It can be remembered that MGM's online systems, including its slot machines, shut down last September due to the cyberattack.
Russian-based hacker group AlphV claimed responsibility for the attack, breaching the personal data of its employees, customers, and vendors.

Cyberattacks, particularly ransomware attacks, have increased throughout the last year as threat actors use more sophisticated methods.

FBI Increases Efforts to Crack Down Hackers
With the growing number of cyberattacks, the FBI has also been taking steps to apprehend high-priority targets.
Just this week, the agency, in cooperation with Europol and the British National Cyber Security Centre cracked down on the notorious LockBit hacking group.
The FBI reported that the group's hacking channels, including connected servers, were taken under control as several of the hackers were arrested.
The group vowed to increase efforts in order to clamp down on hackers threatening to breach into government systems and critical facilities.
