Samsung Might Launch an Ultra Galaxy Z Fold 6

Over the past years, Samsung has been using the number "6" to end a model number for its flagship-series devices. This has been observed on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Fold 5. Hence, it should be natural for the Fold 6 to have a model number ending in 6.

However, GalaxyClub reported that the model number for the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be "SM-F958" which is different from the prediction. According to reports, Samsung has been designating the number "8" to represent its Ultra models.

For instance, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has the model number SM-S928 while the S24+ belongs to the SM-S926 model. The expected Galaxy Z Fold 6 also hints that it could be first released in South Korea as no sign of the same model number has shown up for other regions. Regardless, that is still no cause for concern.

Samsung Plans Affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6

On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly preparing for an affordable variant of its foldables. Previous reports showed that the company is aiming to produce a device under a $1,000 price tag.

To make it work Samsung would have to cut some of the notable specs from its flagship foldable to lessen the expenses. For instance, there is a rumor that it will lack the S Pen support and will have a lesser display.

While the camera will still be within the flagship level, aspects like the display, battery, and chipset will be changed to mitigate the production cost.

Samsung is expected to announce its new foldables in early July.
