Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra Might Get Significant Camera Upgrades

Samsung has always been one of the best phone brands to buy and is a major competitor to Apple. The latter is regarded as the superior company in many circles because of its camera quality, but Samsung might be releasing a phone with a better camera soon that will rival that of Apple.

Samsung's S25 Ultra

The latest flagship from Samsung, the S24 series, has only been released in January this year so the S25 will be a long way from being launched, but there are already rumors concerning the specs of the upcoming S Series model, particularly the camera.

For comparison, the S24 Ultra has a 200 MP main camera and a 50 MP 5x telephoto camera. For its 3x telephoto camera, however, it is only equipped with a 10 MP lens. The lowest quality would be the ultrawide shots, which are only at 12 MP.

The main camera for the S25 Ultra won't be getting an upgrade, which means it will remain at 200 MP, but the other cameras are getting a much-needed upgrade. The telephoto camera will now be 50 MP for both, and the same goes for the ultrawide shots, as per 9To5Google

As for why this is a big deal for Samsung, the tech giant's flagship models haven't had that big of a leap when it comes to upgrading its camera quality. The S22 and S23 series, for instance, have almost similar camera specs with the latest release.

This change is a welcome one, especially since people are starting to use smartphones for professional photography as well as videography, and an upgrade in camera quality could make for a convincing selling point for any brand, not just Samsung.

Since the Galaxy phone manufacturer tends to release its S Series models around January, the S25 Ultra is expected to arrive in about eight months, although that's not a fixed date and Samsung might do so earlier or later.

Samsung S24 Specs

The next model is more than half a year away, and if you need a smartphone now, you could always opt for the current-generation model of the S Series. The S24 lineup comes with impressive specs that will likely be almost similar to the S25, like most flagships.

Flagships often have significant changes after two or three models have already passed, so you might not be missing out that much. The S24 Series has a couple of color choices for buyers such as Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, and the classics, Onyx Black and Marble Gray.

It has a Deca-Core CPU with speeds of 2GHz, 2.9GHz, 2.6GHz, and 1.95GHz. The S24 only features a 2340 x 1080 resolution, but the S24+ and S24 Ultra come with a 3120 x 1440 resolution. All three use a Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen.

The maximum refresh rate for the series is 120Hz, as well as a video recording resolution of 7680 x 4320 at 30fps. For slow motion, it can capture up to 240 fps at full HD, and 120 fps at UHD, which is impressive enough for casual videography.

The S24 has 256 GB of storage and 8GB RAM, although the succeeding models in the lineup are better with 12GB RAM and 512 GB of storage for both the S24+ and the S24 Ultra. It goes without saying that the Plus and Ultra will cost extra for the better specs.
