Apple’s Leaked AI Features Will Rival That of Samsung

Apple has been undoubtedly behind the AI race, but the tech giant is on its way to making sure that it's part of the competition. With its partnership with OpenAI, there are a couple of AI features Apple users can expect soon, and some of them have even been leaked.

Apple Leaked AI Features

The upcoming features are said to be part of the iOS 18 update, and it will make big changes in how the Apple devices work. For one, AI will be integrated into apps like Maps and Safari to make navigation and browsing more convenient, but that's just the basic application of the tech.

iOS 18 will come with functions that allow users to transcribe their voice memos, which has already been introduced to Android devices with Google's Recorder app. The generative AI capabilities will extend to summarization and smart replies as well.

With summarization, it will be able to provide users with a succinct overview of their notifications, which includes calls, messages, and alerts. It will also cover basic tools like documents, news, and web pages, depending on the media format.

Of course, it will not be limited to text, as it will be a waste of the advancement of AI we have reached today. In terms of media like images, as per Digital Trends, Apple is adding media editing that is similar to that of Object Eraser from Samsung.

With the upcoming update, Siri will finally get the upgrade that Apple users have been hoping for. Some would argue that Apple's virtual assistant has fallen short compared to its competitors, but with AI functions, it will be a leap from what it was.

Just as Google Assistant now has Gemini, Siri will also acquire AI features that will make it more functional than just an alarm setter. Reports say that Siri will not be limited to iPhones anymore, but will be placed on smartwatches as well.

"The Siri personal assistant will get an upgrade as well, with more natural-sounding interactions based on Apple's own large language models." It seems that Apple's digital assistant will seem more conversational than robotic in voice.

It's important to note that while this might come from a credible source, it should still be taken as unofficial news. Apple will be announcing its AI features soon anyway with the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference this June 10th.

Apple and OpenAI

Although OpenAI is a strong contender in the deal Apple has to offer, the tech giant is still considering Google as an option. After all, both companies are way ahead in the AI race of all the other companies developing their own AI models.

As reported by Android Authority, Apple and OpenAI already finalized a deal for a chatbot function for iOS 18, but that doesn't mean that it will have OpenAI as its partner for all AI features. There's a chance that Apple might just make a deal with Google as well for other AI functions for its in-house apps.
