"FRIENDS" is among the most popular sitcoms you'll come across, so much so that it is still popular despite airing its last episode almost two decades ago. With the technology then, the video quality is not as good, but you can experience it in 4K with the new boxset.
'FRIENDS' 4K Boxset
Starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, you can watch the comedy sitcom set in New York from start to finish again, and this time, you can do so with better resolution.
The boxset that shows the series in 4K is already available for pre-order on Amazon, listed as "Friends: The Complete Series [4K UHD]." However, you will have to wait a while before getting the product as it is set to be released on September 24, 2024, which is the show's 30th anniversary.
The previous versions of the boxset already come with bonus content such as the "FRIENDS" documentary that lasts for an hour, the full music video of Phoebe Buffay's "Smelly Cat," and the "Joey Joey" music video as well, as reported by Screen Rant.
The 4K boxset, however, will include never-before-released content, which are gag reels from the cast and the official music video of "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrandts. Of course, these extras along with the video quality will cost you a bit.
It will cost you $249.99 to get the product, which is triple the price of the Blu-ray option. It could very well be worth it, especially if you intend to watch the show over and over like many of its fans do.
The other boxsets also have unique inclusions of their own. For instance, you can find retrospective documentaries, extended bloopers, and the producer's cut of the episode "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross."
It's unclear whether these will be included in the $250 version of the DVD set, but it would definitely be a welcome addition if it is. Some boxsets even include interviews of the cast members through the years with Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres.

You Can Still Watch It on Streaming Services
All the seasons of the sitcom can be found on Netflix, so if you already have a subscription there, you could always just get the most out of it. However, it won't be in 4K as it is only offered in the mentioned boxset.
Netflix also doesn't have the added content such as gag reels and interviews, but it could be the more sensible option if you intend to watch more shows than just "FRIENDS." You can easily binge the show in a month and it will cost you $22.99.
If you feel like $249.99 might not be worth the price no matter how big of a fan you are, you can always opt for the DVD set on Amazon, which is only $54.78 and contains extended versions of the episodes. The Blu-Ray set does not have those, which is why is cheaper at $43.70.
