Porn And Nazi GIFs On iOS 10 iMessage: Apple To Remove Search Terms

iPhone users have recently reported filtering pornographic gifs on their iMessage gif search, and Apple is yet to remove the said gifs on their database.

The Apple iOS 10 is said to be the biggest update that happened this year in the tech world. Apple has just officially launched its iOS 10 earlier this week, where the OS hosts heaps of advancements, new features, and improved functionalities. Alongside these new features and improvements that come with the iOS 10, reports say that the update carry some major snags. The tech company is currently facing problems from the update's iMessage. Apparently, the gif search function on the messaging feature is giving out porn gifs, and just lately, reports say that Nazi memes are also up from the gif and meme library.

One of the biggest changes that came with the iOS 10 is on the Messages app, now letting users send multimedia, including gifs and stickers through the iMessage. The move is said to be prompted by Apple's desire to expand the iMessage as a new platform. "The app has a dedicated App Store, which is being populated by standalone apps that users can download and use inside the iMessage system", reports note.

Apple has run into some embarrassing problems with the new feature, after several users reported instances of dishing in hard-core pornography gif when they aren't even fishing out one. Confirming the reports, Apple is now in a rush to fix the trouble the update caused as soon as possible.

As per the source, the porn gifs in iMessage are results of unfinished development of iOS 10's iMessage, and simple search terms like 'butt,' 'huge' and 'bounce' are catching unpleasing results like porn gifs. Deadspin's Kyle Wagner was the first user to report the issue, where he filtered a 'My Little Pony porn' from the gif search of iMessage after he searched for the word 'butt'. The word 'huge' was also described to serve some gif image results associated with pornography.

Though Apple has already blocked several adult words related to pornography, didn't seem to expect porn contents to surface on its iMessage platform through simple words like 'huge' and 'butt.'

On the other hand, users searching the word "power" also draw images that range from female organs to memes, which The Verge discovered, portraying Power Rangers with a backdrop of a swastika.

After coming across these myriad of complaints and reports, Apple is now said to be acting on the issue, trying to rectify this unexpected problem and having it fixed as soon as possible. Apple has not yet released official statements regarding the source of the problem.
