MacOS Sierra: 5 Reasons You Should Install The Genius Update

While there are plenty of individuals awaiting for the release of the new MacBook pro 2016 or the MacBook Air 2016, there are those that have been busy appreciating the update that Apple did provide - macOS Sierra. The new operating system from the Cupertino-based tech company brings with it plenty of new features that, despite relatively old hardware, put Mac products above their current competition.

1. Siri Makes It Onto The Desktop

Siri is no stranger to Apple users, but macOS Sierra does, for the first time, bring Siri to Mac products, as it was previously exclusive to iPhones and iPads. As The Independent notes, there is no "Hey Siri" feature at this point, but Siri still does work flawlessly.

Users can request Siri to type up messages, emails and notes without having to manually type them up. Of course, Siri does not get things correct 100 percent of the time, but this can usually be fixed by speaking clearer and slower.

2. iCloud Gets Stretched

With macOS Sierra, the iCloud Drive now allows users to store files from the Desktop, thus making obtaining documents from various outlets easier. Furthermore, it certainly makes for a much cleaner desktop. Currently, the only drawback of the feature is having to get used to a new location to obtain files.

However, it is definitely better to always have backup files.

3. Apple Watch Unlock

The Apple Watch is now an avenue to unlock a Mac computer. However, Forbes notes that the Apple Watch must also be updated to the latest watchOS 3.

4. Apple Pay In Safari

When visiting a website via Safari, users can easily purchase products with a quick click of the Apple Pay logo. That is, if the website supports such a payment.

5. iMessage Overhaul

The messages in Mac products, thanks to the macOS Sierra, works very much like iMessages in iOS 10. This means that users can view videos, preview links and send larger emojis via the messaging application.
