Nina Dobrev’s alleged return in the final season of “The Vampire Diaries” seems to lose its spark as teen drama’s creator and writer Julie Plec is said to be “devastated” of the actress’ broken promise.
Although Dobrev has not denied nor confirmed her comeback on the last installment of the series, rumors have it that the actress has a full plate, hence reappearing in the show is not possible. Should her anticipated cameo (at the very least) will not come to fruition, the showrunner will be truly disappointed and might pursue her planned alternate ending. To recall, Dobrev made a pact with Plec to join the “The Vampire Diaries” season 8.
“[Nina’s] said she would [come back] and I want her. So honestly it becomes a matter of logistics.”
With the Bulgarian star’s hectic schedule, it looks like she couldn’t make time in shooting her supposed scenes in “TVD.” She is set to guest in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics” and had officially joined the cast of the new movie "XXX: Return of Xander Cage” opposite Vin Diesel and Samuel Jackson.
Another strong reason that is speculated to affect her return in CW’s thriller is her reported feud with former beau Ian Somerhalder. A report mentioned that the actor rejects any possibility of working with her as his wife Nikki Reed is presumed to be jealous of intimate scenes expected of the former sweethearts. The married couple has been facing various divorce rumors and Nina often gets the blame.
It cannot be denied that Nina’s presence in “The Vampire Diaries” is crucial. Will the soap earn an impressive viewership without her?
