The Axon 7, ZTE's flagship smartphone, is set to be released on January next year.
The announcement was made on the Twitter account of the Chinese company's Germany arm. The tweet also mentioned that the Axon 7 will have Google's most recent operating system update.
The tweet by ZTE Mobile DE, which is in German, translated to:
"ZTE Axon 7 Android Nougat update release details announced."
IBT reports that the ZTE smartphone will be among the first brands outside of Google to have the Nougat OS. The only Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM that utilizes the Nougat update in its devices is LG. ZTE will follow suit. The Nougat OS update will also be available for other devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and 15 different Motorola models.
The Axon 7 has been one of the most impressive phones in the market in terms of high-end specs vs price since it was released back in May. It sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. Its screen density is an impressive 538 pixels per inch. Under its hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is usually reserved for more expensive smartphones in the market.
The Axon 7 also has an Adreno 530 graphics, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a powerful 3,250 mAh battery that has the Quick Charge 3.0 feature which charges the battery up to 83 percent in just 30 minutes.
