Nokia Lumia users are in for some good news, as the Finnish company has released the Cinemagraph app for Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 7.8 users.
Cinemagraph is an exclusive Nokia Lumia app that can be used in conjunction with the camera of the Windows Phone 7.5/Windows Phone 7.8 smartphones.
"Cinemagraph was one of the first Microsoft Lens for Windows Phone 8. It's now been updated and works as an independent app for those Nokia Lumia owners running Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 7.8. So, Nokia Lumia 800, Lumia 900 and Lumia 710 can take full advantage of the app," reports NokNokTv.
The popular Cinemagraph app for the non-WP8 Lumias comes in as version 1.0 in the Nokia Collection. The app is similar in nature to the one for WP8 except that it has no Lens feature.
The Cinemagraph app works by taking a short video of the surroundings and allows users to animate certain portions. The app is a great way to blend a photo with video qualities, creating images that seem alive. Users can also seek on-screen assistance which helps them select the animated area in the image and create a Cinemagraph.
What's more, by using their Nokia Account, users can upload and share their creations with family and friends on social networks, via emails and messaging.
"Cinemagraph is a magical blend of photo and movie-like animation, creating pictures that seem almost alive. Helpful on-screen assistance lets you select the animated area of your picture and easily create a cinemagraph. The end result is enchanting," notes the Windows Phone website.
Nokia has disclosed that even though the Cinemagraph works on all Lumia phones, it performs best on Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900.
Since Cinemagraph is an exclusive Nokia Lumia app, users would not be able to download it from the Windows Phone Store. However, you can get the Cinemagraph for free in the Nokia Collection on your Lumia handset.
