It appears that Bungie is searching for a narrative director. This could be gleaned from the job vacancies that it listed on its website. One of the interesting jobs that the game developer has listed is that of a Live Narrative Director. How can this type of director help the development of a video game like Destiny 2?
Since Activision, the publisher of Destiny 2, is planning to release it next year, some have speculated that this could mean that the video game could be released in small narratives. The job posting at Bungee's website revealed the type of job that will be handled by the person that the company will hire.
The Job Posting Described Narrative Updates
The job posting stated that the hired individual will direct the work of storytelling for small-scale and regular Destiny releases for the calendar year. If this job posting is closely examined with regards to Destiny 2, it could mean that this forthcoming installment will be given continuous narrative updates.
The Destiny series unfortunately failed to fulfill the promises that Bungee gave before they were released. There were a lot of problems with the video game and Bungie had to spend one whole year before the issues were finally resolved. The effect is that the video game wasn't received too well by the gaming community.
Bungee Determined To Produce Destiny 2
However, Bungee was not discouraged with the outcome of the first game. It went on and developed Destiny 2. It now appears that the game developer has developed another strategy to hook the fans to the video game. Perhaps this is by releasing it in regular narratives.
Thus the need for someone to take charge of the production of the continuing short but regular narratives of Destiny 2. One of the job responsibilities of the Narrative Director, as stated in the job posting, is to quickly iterate small scale projects within a shortened timeline and assure the successful completion of every project.
