Nintendo NES Classic: What Does Its Future Hold?

The Nintendo Classic Mini NES has been a huge hit. It has been one of the hottest products to buy during the holiday season, and until today, it is still one of the most in-demand products that are being bought in online stores like Amazon and eBay.

With that being said, and with its demands rising up on a constant basis, the future is indeed high for Nintendo's retro console.

NES Classic to receive new accessory

According to recent reports, the NES Classic is going to receive a new accessory that will solve its biggest and only problem: a short controller wire. Announced during the CES event in Las Vegas, new accessories for the NES will be including a power adaptor to go along with a Nintendo Classic Mini controller extension cable.

These accessories will make gaming on the NES Classic much, much easier.

About the accessory

The extension cable, developed and produced by Snakebyte, means that players won't have to be sitting too close to the TV when they are playing the console, which was a major complaint before of those lucky enough to acquire the system. The power adaptor receives the USB cord from the console so you are able to draw power from any outlet that you want.

Other updates about retro consoles

According to other reports, a patent for a Japanese Super Famicom (SNES) controller came through on December 5, 2016, implying that an upcoming new Nintendo Classic console might be in the works.

Based on the patent, it could be connected to the Nintendo Switch Console as well. Many analysts are relying on a SNES has to be in the plans for Nintendo since it was home to some of the most iconic classic games, which would include Mario Kart, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, and A Link to the Past.

The Nintendo Classic Mini NES, on the other hand, features the original Super Mario Bros Trilogy, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man 2, and Castlevania.

With all things being said, it is no doubt that the future is bright for the Nintendo NES Classic.
