Annoying Android Wear 2.0 Bug Fixed, Will Finally Roll Out To 5 More Smartwatches

The oft-delayed Android Wear 2.0 update is on a roll yet again. The Android operating system for smartwatches got a bit sidetracked once more but this time, a bug discovered during the testing stage is the culprit. The bug was quickly fixed allowing the Android Wear 2.0 update to finally roll out to five more smartwatches.

Wareable first reported that the update was delayed because of the said bug though it did roll out to the Fossil Q Founder, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10, and Tag Heuer Connected starting on March 29 and will arrive the latest by April 4. In the statement that Google released, the company also signified that the update will push through to the other devices once the issue was resolved. As it turns out, the waiting time was relatively short. Engadget reported that the bug has finally been fixed and that the Android wear 2.0 is already on its way to the remaining devices.

Fortunately, the bug was an easy fix and so the OS will now be available to the Fossil Q Wander, Fossil Q Marshal, Nixon Mission, Polar M600, and Michael Kors Access. A total of 19 smartwatches are supposed to receive the update. There's no news yet when the Android Wear 2.0 will come to the other 11 older devices such as the Moto 360 and ZenWatch.

The new Android Wear 2.0 update was supposed to roll out to older smartwatches in February but has been delayed for a variety of reasons. Those who really want the Android Wear 2.0 OS but prefer not to wait for the update may want to consider the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style, the first smartwatches to debut the new OS. The two will be followed by the Huawei Watch 2 which was introduced at the 2017 Mobile World Congress.
