Starting Wednesday, June 5, AT&T subscribers looking for a QWERTY phone that runs on the latest BlackBerry 10 OS, can pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. Shipment of the Q10 will start June 18.
The BlackBerry Q10 is already available for the GSM network of AT&T and is now available for its 4G LTE network.
"AT&T was the first carrier to launch BlackBerry smartphones and services in the U.S. and was the first in the U.S. to launch the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. Building on our strong BlackBerry heritage, we are excited to announce that beginning June 5 customers can pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone for $199.99*," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president-Devices, AT&T. "The BlackBerry Q10 extends the new BlackBerry 10 experience to customers with the physical keyboard they love and the secure platform they expect, all on the nation's fastest 4G LTE network," the official press statement of AT&T stated.
The AT&T, however, is not the first company to roll out the BlackBerry Q10. In fact, AT&T comes in third.
T-Mobile rolled out the BlackBerry Q10 to its business customers on May 14 for $119.99 with qualifying plans. The carrier confirmed on May 29 that they will roll out the BlackBerry Q10 for its 4G LTE subscribers starting June 5. It can be availed with a $99 down and $20 per month for two years.
Verizon Wireless announced May 14 that it will be rolling out the BlackBerry Q10 and then updated through a press release on May 30 that the QWERTY phone will be available for pre-order on June 5 for $199.99 with a two-year contract.
Sprint also announced May 14 that it will have the BlackBerry Q10 for its 4G LTE network this summer but no particular date was mentioned in the announcement.
The BlackBerry Q10 is the sibling of the touchscreen BlackBerry Z10. The Q10 is equipped with a 3.1-inch AMOLED screen with a 720 x 720 resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, 8-megapixel camera and a traditional QWERTY keyboard. The device will run on BlackBerry 10.1 out of the box.
The AT&T BlackBerry Q10 offering matches the deal for the BlackBerry Z10, also offered at $200 with a two-year contract.
