New Moto X image and details leak, detailing customizable design

Motorola's Moto X ad confirmed the smartphone would be customizable and newly leaked images now paint a clearer picture of the handset and its customizable cases.

The Moto X is turning out to be one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones to be released this year. It's the first smartphone that Motorola and Google have worked on since Google acquired the company. Amid lots of rumors and speculation, Motorola just launched a new ad that confirms that the Moto X would indeed allow users to customize it.

"The first smartphone that you can design yourself. Because today you should have the freedom to design the things in your life to be as unique as you are," reads the new Motorola teaser ad.

Now, French site NowhereElse (NWE) has posted some images and new details regarding the Moto X. The leaked photos show the back of the smartphone alongside a black case that users will be able to customize with different colors, textures, and engraving. The image shows the back speaker will be on the left side of the smartphone, while Motorola's latest logo rests below the camera. The site also claims that the smartphone may include a dual-SIM version, which might be a variant used in a specific market. The Moto X has already received FCC approval for multiple carriers in the U.S. and only one SIM slot was revealed in its listing.

Motorola will reportedly offer at least 12 different changeable back covers that will come in different colors and textures. The company will reportedly offer an engraving option for the Moto X when the customer orders the smartphone on the Motorola's online store. The site also claims the company might include different colors of Kevlar as a design choice, since a white Kevlar case has also leaked. Carriers will reportedly offer the Moto X in choice of white or black and presumably sell the "customizable" back covers to customers.

It remains to be seen, however, whether these images and details prove to be accurate when Motorola makes the Moto X official. The smartphone is expected to make its debut later this summer.
