Motorola DROID Ultra image, specs leak; DROID MINI, DROID MAXX reportedly hitting Verizon as well

New details have emerged regarding Motorola's upcoming smartphones, adding more information about the DROID Ultra, DROID Ultra MAXX and DROID Ultra MINI.

Motorola isn't betting its smartphone future on the Moto X alone, the company will reportedly release at least three new DROID Ultra smartphones. A new image of the upcoming DROID Ultra has leaked along with some specs, and new information has also emerged on two other smartphones - the DROID Ultra MAXX and DROID Ultra MINI.

When Motorola's CEO, Dennis Woodside confirmed the Moto X at the AllThingsD conference in May, he referred to the smartphone as the company's "hero phone," adding that Motorola plans on releasing multiple smartphones in the coming months. We've seen the Moto X get leaked in images and reported specs. The specs of the smartphone indicate that it will be a mid-range device with a dual-core processor and 720p display.

Meanwhile, a new leaked image of the Motorola DROID Ultra and some specs reveal a powerful, high-end smartphone that will join the Moto X in the company's smartphone lineup.

The purported DROID Ultra image and specs were just leaked by The Unlockr. The smartphone appears to match the RAZR design with its Kevlar case. It will apparently sport a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, pack a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. Motorola will also reportedly include a "high-end" 10-megapixel RGBC rear camera that will use an extra sensor for improved white balance and exposure. The site claims the new camera will result in faster captures and produce better-looking shots in more diverse environments.

Motorola seems to be following Samsung and HTC's lead by releasing a smaller version of its flagship smartphone. The site does not list any information, except that there will be a DROID Ultra MINI. The third smartphone, meanwhile, will be the DROID Ultra MAXX. The MAXX will reportedly be thicker than the DROID Ultra and include a larger battery. Motorola has already pulled such a scheme in the past with its DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX, so the idea is not too farfetched.

The three smartphones will be Verizon exclusives and are expected to be available in black, white, and red color options. If Motorola's much-rumored July 11 press event is not for the Moto X, the company might announce these smartphones on that date.
