Amazon is now offering the Verizon BlackBerry Z10 for a heavily discounted price: $19.99 with a two-year agreement with the carrier.
Subsidies are always a popular option for smartphone enthusiasts who cannot afford to pay the full price for a device, and now the Verizon BlackBerry Z10 got more affordable than ever with Amazon's new offer.
The BlackBerry Z10 was the company's first smartphone to launch with its new operating system, BlackBerry 10 (BB10). The smartphone is an all-touch device, marking a major change for the company. The Z10's on-screen keyboard has been praised as one of, if not the best software keyboards found on any smartphone. The keyboard learns the user's typing habits over time and predicts words on the actual keyboard based on a single typed letter, allowing users to flick the word to enter it on the screen. It may not sound like much, but it is a great time saver. This keyboard, however, should come as no surprise for a company who is well-known for its iconic keyboards.
The smartphone runs BlackBerry 10 and features a gesture-driven interface that feels very intuitive and makes it easy to get to important things such as emails, texts, social updates and more, by using a simple gesture anywhere on the smartphone.
The Verizon BlackBerry Z10 features a 4.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 and a pixel density of 356 pixels per inch (ppi), is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with an Adreno 225 GPU. The smartphone also packs 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS with geo-tagging, a micro SD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB. A removable 1,800 mAh battery keeps things running.
The smartphone will soon receive an upgrade to BlackBerry 10.2, which will add support for users to share content via Wi-Fi direct, which is similar to iOS 7'S AirDrop. The update will also add support for Miracast, which will allow wireless transfer of multimedia to external displays.
Amazon is offering the Verizon BlackBerry Z10 for $19.99 when signing a new 2-year contract, along with free two-day shipping.
