Battery Life Issues: Here's How To Prevent Battery From Draining Fast

Annoyed with your device's batteries draining fast? There are four ways to solve battery life issues including the avoidance of 100% screen brightness.

4 Effective Ways To Prevent Battery Life Issues

1. Decrease the Screen Brightness

The enhanced screen brightness is one of the reasons behind the annoying battery life issue.

For this reason, AARP suggested that users must reduce the screen brightness in users to at least half. This is normally located in the Options or Settings section of the program.

Android users must swipe down from the top of their home screen twice. At the bottom part of the notification, a sun icon is located on the left part of a narrow bar. By sliding the dot on the bar with a finger, this may manually reduce the brightness of the phone or tablet.

Meanwhile, iPhone users must swipe the top right corner of their screen to access the Control Center, which includes a thick Brightness bar with a sun icon. By doing this, iOS device users will be able to adjust the screen brightness.

Fortunately, both Android and iPhone contain adaptive screen brightness.

Adaptive brightness is already available on Android phones, and they are meant to learn your preferences as you use them.

To enable this on an iPhone device, head to "Settings," then choose "Accessibility." In the Accessibility section, tap "Display and Text Size," then toggle on the Auto-Brightness to activate it.

2. Never Drain the Device

Apart from minimizing the screen brightness, BGR reported that running the battery to 0% is far more dangerous than it is.

"Every time your battery is completely discharged, you complete a charge cycle. Batteries have a limited amount of charge cycles, and that means every full cycle you complete is one step closer to your battery not lasting as long," BGR explained.

As a result, one strategy to extend the life of your phone's battery is to charge it to 80% and then only use it for 30 minutes before charging it again.

By doing this, it helps the device keep the battery functioning at top efficiency for as long as possible by preventing users from terminating a complete cycle as frequently.

3. Update the Operating System

AARP also advised people to download and install all operating system updates as soon as they become available. Manufacturers are always experimenting with new ways to optimize power management and repair software problems that may have an impact on battery performance.

To update the operating systems on an Android device, head to the "Settings" icon then choose "System Updates." From there tap "Download and Install."

While for iPhone users, head to the "Settings" icon then tap "General." After that, locate "Software Update" then choose "Automatic Updates."

4. Always Bring a Power Bank

Lastly, a backup battery pack, also known as a power bank, is an excellent way to keep the smartphone or tablet charged while on the road.

This will not require users to look for an electrical outlet to plug in a gadget that is about to shut down. Many modern laptops with USB-C connectors may also be charged using one of these compact battery chargers.
