AT&T has announced that it will begin offering the Nokia Lumia 520 as its first pre-paid Windows Phone. The smartphone will be available on July 26 for $99.
Nokia will be launching two new smartphones with AT&T that are already looking to be a hit. The carrier got the exclusive on the Lumia 1020, Nokia's 41-megapixel Windows Phone 8 handset. AT&T began taking pre-orders for the 1020 on July 16 and completely sold out of its initial stock within two days. The smartphone will be available in retail stores on July 26 for $299.99. The carrier has also just announced it will also launch the Nokia Lumia 520 on the same day.
The Lumia 520 will be the first Windows smartphone to be offered by the carrier on its pre-paid GoPhone service. The smartphone has already been proven to be a hit for T-Mobile, which offers a similar model in the Lumia 521. The carrier started offering the pre-paid smartphone to its customers in April for $149.99 and has reported that the low priced smartphone has been a big hit with consumers. AT&T will undercut T-Mobile by offering the Lumia 520 for $99.99 as part of its no contract, pre-paid GoPhone service,

Nokia's Lumia Windows Phone smartphones have become the most popular Windows Phone handsets because Microsoft gives Nokia more access to the Windows Phone OS than it gives other licensees.
