AMD Confirms the Arrival of Ryzen 7000 and Zen4

AMD is confirming the release of Ryzen 700 and the all-new Zen4 processors. The company is preparing to release numerous products under these two new products.

The tech company continues to develop not just heavily for gaming, but also release competitive processors for laptops and mobile phones.

AMD Ryzen 7000

AMD has stated that a new class of laptop CPUs will be available in 2023 as part of the company's planned Ryzen 7000 series. Known internally as the Dragon Range, the series targets power consumption of 55 watts or higher and is designed to compete with the highest-end gaming notebooks.

Although AMD did not provide any details on the manufacturing process at its press briefing, the company did confirm that it will be based on the Zen 4 processor architecture. The company's head of technical marketing, Robert Hallock, stated that the company is aiming to be the leader in gaming and multi-threading with the product.

According to Digital Trends, Zen 4 is expected to ship utilizing TSMC's 5nm manufacturing process, despite its refusal to discuss the specifics of the manufacturing process. Though it has not done so in the past, it's feasible that the business will use various manufacturing procedures for the different laptop and desktop product lines going forward.

Additionally, the company is developing its Ryzen 7000 desktop processors, which are code-named Raphael. It is currently unclear whether or not these CPUs will include the 3D V-Cache technology that it just introduced with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

AMD also announced during the conference that its desktop processors, Ryzen 7000, release date, will be available in the second half of 2022, with support for DDR5 memory.

The Dragon Range and Phoenix mobile processors are scheduled to be released in 2023, respectively. Although it is unknown when the chips will be available, AMD's briefing hints that they will be available at the beginning of the year.

AMD claims to be aiming for the "highest core, thread, and cache ever for a mobile gaming CPU," despite the fact that specifics are limited.

AMD Zen4 Release Date

When AMD Zen 4 CPUs are released, tech enthusiasts will finally be able to use PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 gaming RAM on its Ryzen processors for the first time. Since Alder Lake was released in 2021, AMD's processor offerings have been aligned with Intel's, which has supported both technologies since the release of Alder Lake.

AMD Zen 4 processors are expected to be released in gaming PCs later this year. As is always the case until the company unveils its Zen-3-based Ryzen 5000 replacement, its Ryzen 7000 processors will compete with Intel's Raptor Lake for the title of best gaming CPU in the second half of 2022.

AMD Earnings

AMD posted its earnings for the first quarter of 2022, yesterday, May 4, exceeding expectations from both earnings and revenue projections from analysts.

The company reported first-quarter earnings of $1.13 a share, excluding certain factors, a significant increase over the $0.92-cent consensus estimate of market experts. Sales increased by 71 % which totals to $5.9 billion.

It was previously forecasted to have a $5.3 billion revenue this first quarter, however, this 71% increase proves the wide margin of how significant the company is to its market.

The chipmaker expects to generate $26.3 billion in yearly sales in 2022. This yearly sales is a 60 % increase over the previous year's figure. In comparison, an average estimate of $24.1 billion was provided.

It is gaining headway among the world's largest consumers of computer processors, including the owners of the massive data centers that serve as the internet's nerve center.

As CNBC reports, the company CEO Lisa Su stated that the company believes it has gained market share in PC chips for eight consecutive quarters
