Canon's newest EOS R-Series cameras have been revealed, and their performance is as impressive as their affordable price.
The popular camera developer recently announced the launch of its latest EOS R-series cameras, the EOS R7 and EOS R10, which provide quality performance at a more affordable price, making them the best of Canon's mid-range R-series cameras.
Both cameras are Canon's first EOS R-series models with smaller-size APS-C imaging sensors.
Canon EOS R7 And R10 Specifications
According to Canon's announcement, the EOS R7 is ideal for hobbyists and general photography enthusiasts, while the EOS R10 is perfect for content creators looking for a camera option to capture "high-quality action videos" and images of sports, wildlife, and motorsports.
Canon describes both cameras to be compact and easy to use, which are smaller than the EOS R5, as well as regular DSLRs like the 7D or 200D, per CNET.
Meanwhile, both cameras have the same autofocus, which has a subject-detection feature inherited from the EOS R3 camera. The two cameras also have a mechanical shutter capable of taking pictures up to 15 frames per second (fps) and the ability to record clips for over 30 minutes under ideal conditions.
These ideal conditions include a full battery charge, an adequate space in the SD card installed, and an excellent internal temperature. Canon mentioned that video recording might stop if one of these were not followed.
Both cameras are also the first Canon APS-C cameras equipped with 7.0 stops Coordinated Image Stabilization, which allows multisecond long exposures without using a tripod, along with smooth video recordings.

The R7 and R10 cameras will also have Canon's new RF-S lenses, the RF-mount lenses, which are optimized for the smaller APS-C sensor size of the new EOS R camera system.
These lenses can be used for any Canon R-series camera.
However, the cameras' similarities end there. The R7 - the more lightweight of the two due to its general use nature - is equipped with a 32 million pixel APS-C size image sensor capable of shooting 4K video at up to 120 fps using the full sensor in Canon's Log-3 mode for easier postproduction. It can also shoot full-resolution raw files up to 15 fps with its mechanical shutter and 30 fps using the electronic shutter.
The R7 has the RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens, which provides an 18-45mm focal length, but users will experience a similar field of view to a 29-77mm lens coverage on a full-frame camera. It also has dust and moisture resistance, a plus for long exposure shots.
Meanwhile, the R10 - the more heavyweight of the two in terms of specifications - comes with 24 million pixels - eight million pixels lower than the EOS R7. However, the R10 more than makes up for it by having Dual memory card slots and full-width 4K video recording at 60p.
The R10 receives the RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM lens, which has a longer-range standard zoom equivalent to 29-240mm lens coverage on a full-frame camera.
