Barnes & Noble released a new e-book reader, the 6-inch Nook GlowLight 4e.

Father's Day is just around the corner, and this newly released e-book reader could be a perfect gift. The Barnes & Noble Nook GlowLight 4e is an excellent choice for any avid reader looking for a low-cost e-book reader with a plethora of features.

Barnes & Noble has unveiled its newest Nook e-reader, a version of the Nook GlowLight 4 that is more wallet-friendly than the original model announced in December. The Nook Glowlight 4e is $30 cheaper than its predecessor but has fewer features. However, it does come with a fair amount of tradeoffs.

Barnes & Noble's Nook GlowLight 4e

The Nook GlowLight 4e has a display with a lower pixel density than the GlowLight 4e, at 212 DPI. The display is definitely a tradeoff from the display on the GlowLight 4, which has 300 dots per inch.

The electronic readers all have a very similar design, with a casing that has a soft touch and physical buttons for turning the pages.

Despite the difference in display, both e-book readers are designed to reduce glare and come with properties that are resistant to scratching, which ought to make for a more pleasant reading experience.

As reported by Digital Trends, the Nook GlowLight 4e features an integrated dictionary, bookmarking capabilities, and sharing capabilities. However, the company hasn't yet released an official estimate of how much the new device weighs. Barnes & Noble stated that the weight of the readers "may vary by configuration and manufacturing process."

Another tradeoff that a lot of readers can get around with is the capacity for storage. There is less space for storage in the Nook GlowLight 4e. It only has 8GB as opposed to the 32GB that Nook GlowLight 4 has. Furthermore, the company stated that this new e-book reader could be used for several weeks until it needs to be charged again.

The Nook GlowLight 4e from Barnes & Noble can be purchased for a total cost of $120. Pre-orders for the GlowLight 4e can be placed at this time, and the device will begin shipping on June 7. This means that on June 19, Father's Day, you already have a gift ready for dad.
A wide variety of color options for the protective cases can be purchased for the new device.

Difference of GlowLight 4e from GlowLight 4

The latest Nook readers are modeled after the Nook GlowLight 4, which was introduced in December last year. Both have the same design, consisting of thick bezels on housing with a textured surface. Because those bezels contain physical buttons for page-turning, the appearance of something somewhat dated has one benefit.

Aside from those specific distinctions, the two models appear virtually identical. Both have a built-in screen protector that is resistant to scratches and glare, and the USB-C port can be used to charge the devices.

As mentioned by The Verge, a noticeable difference between the GlowLight 4e and GlowLight 4 is how long their users can use each e-book reader. The Nook GlowLight 4 has a significantly increased battery life than that of the recent release, as it can last up to 50 days.

In addition, the amount of storage space onboard the GlowLight 4 is from 8 GB to 32 GB.

GlowLight 4 could also be an option depending on how much space users need since it has reasonable pricing at $149.
