Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen is not convinced of Tom Brady's golfing viral video.
Allen recently tweeted a gif expressing his skepticism on Brady's golfing feat wherein he managed to hit a hole-in-one during one of his practices on the front nine, according to Heavy.com.
Allen and Brady are competitors in a televised golf competition that will take place on June 1, per Sporting News.
Josh Allen's Skepticism of Tom Brady's Feat
According to Heavy's report, Brady released a drone-recorded video of him allegedly hitting a hole-in-one on a golf course as part of his practice for his appearance in The Match golfing competition.
The distance between Brady's position from the hole was not disclosed.
The Match is a golfing competition that has been going on since 2018. The upcoming competition's All-NFL version will feature Brady and Aaron Rodgers going up against Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
Brady posted the recording online, captioning it as "This is why you film every shot on the course..."
The video eventually turned viral, which drew the attention of fans and skeptics alike. According to skeptics, the video was a fake and has been edited to make Brady look like he hit a hole-in-one. Others call the video an advertisement to help market the drone used to film Brady's feat.
Their argument does hold some water. Although the drone followed the golf ball Brady swung at from the tee to the green and eventually to the golf hole, there was no camera at the hole's location to confirm the ball going in. As such, the drone's recording could've been edited to look like it went in.
Additionally, skeptics have also mentioned that there were some tee box markers found in the video, suggesting that Brady made multiple attempts to hit a hole-in-one. However, this is just speculation as the markers may have been there to keep track of where Brady's shots landed, but not for the hole-in-one featured in the video.
Allen also joined Brady's team of skeptics by him tweeting a scene from Adam Sandler's movie, "Mr. Deeds," where the actor says, "Ba ba... b***s**t," implying that Allen doesn't believe Brady making the shot.
Whether Allen's tweet is one of friendly, competitive disbelief or not is unclear.
Is the Shot Real?
Sports Insider mentioned in its report that there is a real chance Brady did manage the hole-in-one, citing ESPN's Tom VanHaaren's tweet stating that he spoke with Brady, who told him that the video was real.
However, Andy Nesbitt of USA Today Sports and Michael Hurley of CBS Boston beg to differ.
According to Nesbitt's report, the video was made to promote The Match, saying, "What better way to promote The Match than to have the GOAT hole out a shot that goes viral?"
Meanwhile, Hurley's report mentioned that the video was edited, saying that Brady credited Shadow Lion, the team responsible for all of his fake videos, in his tweet. He also dropped links to his Brady-branded golf clothing under his initial tweet.
Regardless of whether or not the video is real, Brady's video did manage to create a buzz about The Match.
