The social media network company, Twitter, says to hold a developer conference this year, which will take place in San Francisco on Nov. 26, and it will bring back Chirp.
What is Chirp?
For some people, "Chirp" sounds new to them. To give you a brief background, in 2010, the first-ever Twitter developer conference was actually named Chirp. However, the company canceled such events in the following years. The last time the company hosted an event was the Twitter Flight in 2015.
Chirp 2020 Goal
Chirp 2020 opens opportunities for people to connect and ask questions to Twitter's developer team. Twitter says they are "in the dark" regarding Elon Musk's plans for the company once he assumes control.
Twitter Announces Chirp's Comeback After Several Years
Twitter will once again conduct an in-person developer conference since their last event in 2015. After seven years of halting its developer gathering, the social media network company will be re-launching 'Chirp' this Nov. 16.
Since their previous developer conference, known as the Twitter Flight 2015, Twitter has had quite an unstable connection with its developers. In 2018, the social networking company made a series of unpopular API changes that were poorly communicated. As a result, makers of third-party Twitter clients were significantly impacted, and the company was even blamed for breaking their apps.
In 2020, Twitter launched the newest version of its API. At the same time, the company introduced new tools that will help researchers study their platform more manageably. Twitter has been actively trying to enhance its relationship with developers recently. It even tried a developer-friendly new feature that recommends some third-party services in its own app.
Chirp 2022 Offers Meeting Opportunities With Developers, ButTwitter Remains Unaware of Musk's Plans
The social network company wrote in a blog post that there would be keynote technical sessions. They will also give people meeting opportunities with the Twitter Developer Platform team. They can have the chance to connect with other developers in their global community and have their questions answered. Chirp's agendas are still not exactly clear, but according to Twitter, their keynote session can be streamed live by those who cannot attend on their social media platform.
Twitter's company executives have mentioned that they are very much oblivious about Elon Musk's plans for their platform. Also, their social media network company's current CEO, Parag Agrawal, may not remain longer in his position after Twitter's deal with the Tesla Motors CEO closes.
Considering that Twitter is still clueless regarding Musk's plans, several questions have arisen, including what its employees will face after the management changes. In April, its CEO Parag Agrawal confirmed to its employees that they are not planning to lay off its workforce. However, Aragwal has admitted his doubts concerning the company's future.
Regardless of the uncertainty about the company's future, if Musk starts to assume responsibility for the company, Twitter will still push through the conference. Twitter's developer tools could be the company's essential source of income, which is something Musk has considered his foremost priority.
