Amazon is planning to conduct two Prime Shopping events this year.
Usually, Amazon's Prime shopping happens once a year. However, things are changing this time.
It has been reported that the e-commerce company will add another Prime Shopping event.
The brewing Prime event is reportedly called "Prime Fall," according to CNBC, and will be an exclusive shopping event for Prime users on the platform.
Later this year, assumingly for the fourth quarter, Amazon is going to hold a sales event called "Prime Fall."
This is part of Amazon's effort to increasingly look outside of its own Prime Day in order to boost sales and entice new customers to join its membership discount club.
This announcement came after the company just recently sent out announcements to its third-party retailers regarding the additional event later this year.
Amazon Prime Fall Event
Amazon currently has an upcoming event next month called Prime Day. The company's holding a massive annual big sale event for Prime Day, which will take place on July 12 and 13.
CNBC reports that there is a plan to hold a second shopping event for Prime members, this one in the fourth quarter.
Usually, sales events conducted by e-commerce shops are intended not just to boost sales from retailers but also to attract and bring in new subscribers.
CNBC stated, "The fall event could help drum up additional sales for Amazon, which announced in April that it had booked the slowest quarterly revenue growth since the dot-com bust in 2001."
The world's largest online retailer has been informing sellers about an upcoming Prime Fall Deal Event, although there has not been an official date announced yet.
Recently, the company started notifying specific third-party retailers of a "Prime Fall" deal event through its internal seller portal, which is called Seller Central.
Aside from that, the sellers are also instructed to submit their planned lightning deals in advance for the fall event until July 22.
The notice given to sellers as early as now would definitely give them ample time to come up with deals.
The significant amount of time is also noticeable before the event that takes place during the fourth quarter.
This will be the first time that the company holds two events of this nature within the same calendar year.
Amazon Prime's Fall Event
Amazon's Prime Fall event still does not have a confirmed date. However, the information that was supplied to retailers implies that the online shopping event will most likely take place in the month of October.
October would definitely make sense for the event since November traditionally marks the Cyber Monday craze and December would be full of Christmas sales.
If it were held any later, there would be a chance that it would conflict with the holiday shopping season starting to ramp up.
Amazon's Second Event
It is Amazon's initiative to conduct this second massive Prime Day sale event to increase sales for everyone.
According to Digitaltrends, "Amazon's reported decision to add another shopping festival to the calendar comes after the Seattle-based company reported sluggish growth figures for the quarter ending March 31, with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy citing the pandemic and subsequent war in Ukraine as aggravating factors."
