Finally, the company announced in a new blog post that orders for its newly redesigned 13.6-inch MacBook Air will start on Friday, July 8 at 5 a.m. PT. A week later, on July 15, the laptop will reach customers' doorsteps and be accessible for same-day retail purchase.

Mac Observer noted that we'll have to wait and watch how persistent supply chain problems affect MacBook Air availability. Stock of the most recent 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 processor appears to be sufficient right now, at least for base models. Only if you select more than the standard amount of unified memory can delays of around one to three weeks occur.

Features of the New MacBook Air

As previously reported, Apple revealed last month an upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro and a 13.6-inch MacBook Air with its newest custom M2 chip.

Apple claims that the brand-new MacBook Air has even better performance and a remarkably thin design.

The stunning 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display on the new MacBook Air has been expanded closer to the sides and up around the camera to make space for the menu bar. It is also 25% brighter than before at 500 nits of brightness. Photos and movies look extraordinarily colorful thanks to the 1 billion colors that the MacBook Air now supports.

Users can easily connect to a dedicated charging port with MagSafe, which protects the plugged-in MacBook Air. Additionally, the MacBook Air has a 3.5 mm audio jack that supports high-impedance headphones, two Thunderbolt ports for attaching a range of peripherals, and two Thunderbolt ports. The Magic Keyboard also has an expansive, industry-leading Force Touch trackpad, a full-height function row with Touch ID, and other features.

Users can complete more work more easily with the MacBook Air with M2's more robust 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU. It can handle even heavier and more complicated tasks because to its 100GB/s unified memory bandwidth and support for up to 24GB of fast unified memory.

The MacBook Air with M2 can now play back more streams of 4K and 8K video than before since M2 also offers a powerful next-generation media engine with a ProRes video engine for hardware-accelerated encode and decode.

The new 1080p FaceTime HD camera that comes with MacBook Air has twice the resolution and improved low-light performance over the previous model. Users will appear fantastic on video conferences because of the M2's sophisticated image signal processor and its processing capabilities. The sound system on the MacBook Air has four speakers as well.

Additionally, while having a bigger display and more power, the MacBook Air still offers the same excellent all-day battery life, with up to 18 hours of video playback.

The MacBook Air with M2 is now offered in four exquisite finishes: midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray, with prices starting at $1,199 (US) and $1,099 (US) for educational institutions.
