The Moto X has been available on AT&T for a few days and it will finally be available for Verizon customers beginning on August 29 for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.
When Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside confirmed the Moto X at AllThingsD in May, he told the audience that the handset would be unlike any smartphone available by being contextually aware. The Moto X can adapt to situations and perform actions without any physical input from the user. The smartphone has the ability to learn its users voice and perform different tasks by simply speaking out loud.
The handset includes special sensors and software that give it a continuous listening mode. A user does not need to turn on the device to perform different functions. Instead, users will only need to say the phrase, "OK, Google Now" followed by different commands out loud and the Moto X will perform them accordingly. The smartphone has been available to AT&T customers for a few days and now Verizon has confirmed that it will be making the Moto X available for purchase online beginning on August 29 for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The carrier also announced that the smartphone would be making its way to retail stores in the coming weeks.

The Moto X runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but should be updated to the latest Android 4.3 in the near future. The smartphone includes 16GB of internal storage with 2GB of RAM. The rear camera is a 10-megapixel shooter and can record 1080p video and the handset also includes a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It wireless capabilities include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has also included a 2,200 mAh battery.
