'The Sandman' Surprise Episode
"The Sandman's" first part of the bonus episode is an animated retelling of "A Dream of a Thousand Cats," which originally appeared in the 18th issue of the comic book series. This part is inspired by the third volume of comic books called "Dreamy County."
According to Polygon, the storyline centers on a little white cat that is asked to sneak away one night to attend a meeting in a cemetery where a Siamese cat explains how she encountered the Dream Lord in the shape of a cat, who revealed to her the rivalry between cats and humans' secret histories.
If the first part of the bonus episode is an animated adaptation, the second part is a form of live-action based on "Calliope".
The second part of the bonus episode is about a writer named Richard Madoc who mercilessly enslaves a woman named "Calliope" in order to fuel his own artistic ambition and compose a great work.
The name of the story comes from one of the nine muses who are mentioned in Greek mythology.
In addition, the animated story will have a plethora of guest stars offering their vocal talents to "The Sandman". Some of these guest stars will include James McAvoy, Sandra Oh, and even Neil Gaiman himself.
