A new report claims that Apple will not only unveil the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at its September 10 event, but will also announce new iPads.
The company hasn't officially announced it yet, but multiple reliable sources have confirmed that Apple will be holding a September 10 event to unveil its next-generation iPhones, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The company was expected to hold a separate event to announce the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 with Retina Display. A new report from Bloomberg, however, now claims that Apple's September 10 event will also include new iPhones and new iPads, which would be quite a departure from Apple's usual product announcements.
Apple announced the iPhone 5 at an event it held in September 2012 that revolved around the new smartphone and iOS 6. The company then held an iPad event a few weeks later in October, where it officially announced the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad. It now appears that Apple will hold a single event to announce its latest iPhones and iPads.
"The Cupertino, California-based company plans to introduce new versions of its phone and tablet at a Sept. 10 event, a person familiar with the matter has said, and the company promised 'several more game changers' in the product pipeline as it tries to fend off Samsung Electronics Co. and Chinese makers selling cheaper handsets," said Bloomberg's sources.
There were recent rumors that Apple was going to delay the release of the iPad 5, iPad mini 2, and iOS 7 for iPads, due to developers claiming the new operating system contained bugs and was not as stable as the iPhone version of the OS. It was believed that Apple would release iOS 7 for iPad when it announced both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 at an event in late October.
If this report proves to be accurate, the company will be unveiling its entire iOS 7 mobile lineup at a single event on Sept. 10. As always, take this report with a grain of salt. Apple has yet to announce even if it will hold the rumored Sept. 10 event.
