Apple Watch Ultra repair cost is surprisingly more expensive than the price tag of a new Apple Watch Series 8.
It would cost nearly $400 to repair the new "Ultra" smartwatch when it breaks without the warranty and technical support plan of the tech giant, AppleCare+.
And it also appears that the battery replacement for the new rugged smart wearable is more costly than its siblings.
Apple Watch Ultra Expensive Repair Cost
As per a news story by The Verge, the all-new Apple Watch Ultra specifically serves users who are fond of extreme sports, such as diving and mountain climbing. Thus, the most expensive smartwatch of the iPhone maker, which starts at $799, rocks a rugged overall design.
However, it looks like breaking the $799 Apple Watch is going to be a costly accident.
The repair cost of the Ultra is way heftier than the pricing to have the standard Series 8 fixed, which only starts at $299.
What's more, getting the rugged smartwatch repaired is apparently going to break your bank more than buying yourself the latest entry-level Series 8. It is to note that the next-generation standard Apple Watch retails for $399 for its 41mm option.
How Much Does it Cost to Have Apple Watch Ultra Fixed?
According to a report by Mac Rumors, if you are looking to have your Apple Watch Ultra fixed, it would cost roughly $400 without any AppleCare+ plan.
The website of Apple says that the repair fee for its most expensive smartwatch is $499 in the United States.
The tech giant states that it applies to repairs of its various components, which also include its buttons, its massive display, which comes with a sapphire crystal cover, and its supposedly durable titanium case.
Given that, it seems that getting the Ultra fixed without any AppleCare+ coverage is worth the same as a brand new Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm), which supports the cellular connection. You could basically get yourself a new smartwatch.
Not to mention that the battery replacement for the $799 smartwatch is also more expensive at $99.
On the other hand, repairing the all-new Series 8 could cost between $299 to $399 outside of an AppleCare+ plan, whereas replacing the battery is cheaper at $79.
The Verge notes in its story that the more expensive battery replacement cost of the new Ultra is likely due to its bigger battery. But do note that Apple touts it to last longer than the Series 8.
AppleCare+
The seriously expansive price of repairing the Ultra is making the protection plan of the iPhone maker, AppleCare+, a bargain as it only costs $4.99 a month.
However, the battery replacement service fee would still cost $99 for the Ultra and $79 for the Series 8.
