Intel's Canada website might have revealed more than what the company wanted.
The popular microprocessor developing company has recently made a slip-up, with its Canadian website leaking the specifications of its upcoming 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors, per The Verge.
The leak follows a previous leak that appeared online in early Sept., which also contains the alleged specifications of Intel's 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors, per igor'sLAB.
Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake Processor Leak Details
Twitter users recently spotted Intel's Candian website publishing the specifications for its 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors on its "How to Choose a Gaming CPU" page.
According to an archived screenshot, courtesy of the Wayback Machine and Twitter user @momomo_us, Intel's Canadian website leaked the i5, i7, and i9 desktop processors under its 13th Gen Raptor Lake Processor line.
The 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13600K desktop processor has up to 5.1 GHz P-core max frequency, along with 14 cores and 20 threads. Meanwhile, the 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700K desktop processor has up to 5.3GHz P-core max frequency and has 16 cores and 24 threads.
Lastly, the 13th Gen Intel core i9-13900K desktop processor has up to 5.4 GHz P-Core max frequency and has 24 cores and 32 threads.
The specification of the 13th Gen Intel core i9-13900K desktop processor means that it can reach 8GHz on a high-end variant of a Z790 motherboard, per Wccftech.
An anonymous overclocker was able to do so with a voltage of 1.792V and liquid nitrogen to cool the overclocked processor better. According to Techradar, only the performance cores were running, no efficiency cores were active, and hyper-threading was disabled.
Should the anonymous overclocker's information be on point and the leaks are proven to be true, then Intel has successfully built a processor that can go beyond its 8GHz threshold when being overclocked in over ten years.
The last Intel processor that almost breached the 8GHz threshold was the company's Comet Lake line of processors, with its flagship Core i9-10900K achieving an overclock of 7.7GHz.
Implications of Intel Canada's Leak
This leak follows Intel's confirmation that an upcoming 13th Gen CPU will run at 6GHz at stock and leaked official-looking slides that reveal the specifications of the previously mentioned processors alongside the i5-13600KF processor, i7-13700KF processor, and i9-13900KF processor.
The Intel Canada website and the igor'sLAB leaks feature the same specifications for the three previously mentioned processors. Although Intel has yet to officially reveal the specifications of its upcoming 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors, Intel Canada's leaks have given igor'sLAB's leaked slides credibility. Thus, giving Intel fans and people looking to upgrade their computer's hardware something to look forward to.
To make the deal sweeter, Intel also teased that the upcoming processors will see an increase in single-threaded and multi-threaded performances, with the former getting a 15% improvement and the latter receiving a 41% improvement.
Intel fans don't have to wait long for the company's official reveal of its upcoming processors. The company's Innovation event is scheduled to be held from Sept. 27 to 28 at San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Joe, California, per Intel's announcement.
