Fans of the iconic 007 series on Amazon Prime now have something to look forward to.
Amazon has reportedly announced that its Prime Video streaming service will be the upcoming home of the entire "James Bond" series soon, making it available to stream for all Amazon Prime subscribers, per Variety.
Amazon is also preparing something more specialt than a shaken martini to celebrate the series' imminent arrival on its platform.
'James Bond' Series Arrival On Amazon Prime Video
Amazon mentioned that all 25 "James Bond" movies, from the oldest such as "Dr.No" and "From Russia With Love," to the more recent ones like "Skyfall" and "No Time To Die," will be available to stream on Prime Video on Oct. 5.
The release of all 25 "James Bond" films on Oct. 5 coincides with the 60th anniversary of the series' first entry, "Dr No," which was released on Oct. 5, 1962 in the United Kingdom, per the James Bond wiki.
Unfortuantely, the films will only be streamble on Amazon Prime Video for a limited time only, though Amazon didn't share when all 25 "James Bond" films would leave its streaming service.
Similarly, the first 24 "James Bond" films will also be limited releases on the platform in Germany, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Brazil.
The only "James Bond" movie to remain streamable in these territories is "No Time To Die," which is Daniel Craig's last movie as James Bond, per a separate Variety report.
To celebrate the arrival of all "James Bond" films on its streaming paltform, Amazon will also premiere a new documentary called "The Sound of 007," which focuses on the music of all 25 movies, per CNET.
To be specific, the documentary will present music and film clips from the 25 "James Bond" films as well as new interviews and even historical videos of those involved in bringing music to them.
Additionally, Billie Eilish, who sang the theme song for "No Time To Die," and Paul McCartney, who wrote the theme song of "Live and Let Die," will be among those interviewed for the documentary.
Prime Video will also release a recording of a live charity concert called "The Sound of 007: Live from the Royal Albert Hall," in celebration of the movie series' 60th anniversary and the music it brought to the world.
This concert will be held on Oct. 4, a day before the movie series' 60th anniversary, and will be attended by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson of Eon Productions, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Broccoli and Wilson are both producers of the "James Bond" films.
Will The Next James Bond Films Be Exclusivly Streamed?
Although Amazon bought MGM, the studio that brought the "James Bond" films to the world, for $8.5 million in 2021, it doesn't necessarily mean that the next "James Bond" films will be exclusively seen on Prime Video.
Variety mentioned that the movie series needs to remain on the big screen to turn a profit for its owners as they are "huge financial undertakings."
For example, "No Time To Die," the latest "James Bond" movie, had a budget of $250 million, while earning $770 million at the global box office, per The Numbers.
Additionally, Broccoli and Wilson have much creative control over the property, which includes how the films will be distributed, who gets to be the next 007, and if spin offs of the series will be created.
