Regardless of which carrier you are using the simplest way to report any spam message you receive is by sending the original message to 7726.

According to T-Mobile, all you have to do is to identify the text message that you want to report and copy it. Once you have done that, create a new message with 7726 as the recipient. Simply paste the message you previously copied and hit send.

T-Mobile assures that the message you send is encypted, which means that your identity will remain private. Verizon also notes that there are no additional charges when you send or receive a message from 7726.

Different carriers also provide additional options you can choose from should you want to report the spam messages you have been getting.

Reporting Spam Messages to AT&T

Aside from sending spam messages to 7726, AT&T also has an online form you can fill out to report the unwanted texts you have been receiving.

The online form that you fill out asks for information such as your phone number and details about the spam message, such as the date you were contacted and what the content of the message is.

Reporting Spam Messages to Verizon

Verizon users have the option of reporting spam messages via the Message+ app. The process is likewise pretty straightforward. The first thing you should do is to touch and hold the message you want to report. You have to wait for the Message Menu to show up.

Select the Report Spam option once you see it. Then, you will have to tap it once more to confirm the action that you want to do.
