After Meta kicked him out from Instagram on Friday, Oct. 7, Kanye West returned to Twitter after nearly two years. But got his account by the name of Ye suspended after posting an antisemitic message.
"I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE," West tweeted.
Kanye West's Post Is Antisemitic
Twitter's spokesperson told Engadget that the post violated the company's policies.
The phrase death con 3 is an ambiguation of DEFCON 3, referring to the 1973 joint attack by Egypt and Syria that resulted in what was known as the Yom Kippur War. The attack against the Jewish nation prompted the United States to place its military assets in the region under DEFCON 3.
It took some time for the company to act on the tweet. As of Sunday, the hateful post is no longer on the platform.
Instagram Suspended Kanye West
Unfortunately, West's suspension on Twitter came a day after Instagram restricted his account after he insinuated that a powerful Jewish group controlled rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) on Twitter said of West's post and his interview with Fox News as "incoherent rants laden with racist and antisemitic tones."
AJC said the anti-Jewish post was "shared with his 18 million followers on Instagram."
The group said West propagated "white supremacist slogans and classic antisemitism about Jewish power."
A spokesperson for Meta said the post on Instagram was deleted because it violated the company's policies. The company also restricted West's account.
Meta, however, did not say what kind of restriction it had imposed on the account. It also kept mum on what made the post by West objectionable.
In March. Instagram had also suspended West for 24 hours after his racial slur against Trevor Noah, the host of the "Daily Show".
