Most can agree that ads are more of a nuisance than promotion from the perspective of their audience. People even pay to have an ad-free experience. However, a particular ad from Taco bell featuring Pete Davidson has unusually infuriated people from the internet more than usual.
According to Gizmodo, fans of Taco Bell from all over Reddit have been expressing their dismay over the restaurant's ad campaign about their breakfast menu, which includes the famous Crunchwrap, breakfast burritos, and quesadillas.
Social Media Revolt
Taco Bell customers especially those on Reddit did not shy away from expressing their disgust and disapproval of Taco Bell's new ad. Several subreddits like r/rant, r/thanksihateit, r/offmychest, and r/cringe have been taken over by the issue.
u/Serenitynow1253 posted in r/TrueOffMyChest telling Reddit to stop it with the Pete Davidson ad, and the comment section is flooded with people who agree with the post. One even commented that after seeing the ad, they didn't want to eat at Taco Bell anymore, while others just made direct shots at the campaign spokesperson instead of the actual ad.
Mostly, people are just tired of seeing the ad several times a day, claiming it was way too repetitive even for a campaign. Some said that it wasn't the ad that was irking them but the close-up view of Pete Davidson's face that pops up every time they scroll. The criticism over the ads has taken over Taco Bell's unofficial subreddit, r/LivingMas.
Although, a few Redditors speculated that this was part of Taco Bell's plans all along. u/justhereforwow expressed this sentiment on r/thanksihateit.
In r/YouShouldKNow, u/MondoDudeBro suggested that Redditors can block u/RealTacoBell to avoid the obnoxious ads, but according to other comments, it was no longer possible. This may be due to the great number of users following suit, and Reddit has already blocked the option.
There is an alternative if you no longer have the block option. You can just report the post and label it as spam. The app will then show less of the ad but not as effective as blocking the original poster.

Apology Video
Taco Bell got the message, all right. When you attempt to look for the original video campaign ad, in case you haven't seen it, you will no longer find it. Other than the flood of news and reactions about Pete Davidson's advertisement for Taco Bell, it's all just screen records of the original with the lower video quality.
You can, however, view Taco Bell's apology video, which also features the same spokesperson, Pete Davidson. Taco Bell and the SNL comedian expressed his apology by saying that "sometimes, people go too far. I have, and that's why Taco Bell has hired me to make an apology video" eight days ago.
The video will then proceed to show once more the architecture of their famous Crunchwrap, and Pete Davidson will call it "crunch thing" again as he previously did in the original commercial.
