We've got a question for you regarding Transformers toys. Are the toys the basis of the movie franchise or were they created after the movies came out? The answer, ladies and gentlemen, is the former. Transformers began as a toy line that eventually became the basis of the movie franchise.
In fact, the "Transformers" film series is actually the highest-grossing movie series based on a toy franchise. Per the Guinness World Records, the five movies under the series has a gross earning of more than $3.7 billion as of September 19, 2015.
Here's a fun fact: the first Transformers toys came out in 1984.
Largest Collection of Wind-Up Toys
As of March 30, 2021, the world record for the largest collection of wind-up toys belongs to Marla Mogul, who is from the United States. Her toy collection, as of the previously mentioned date, consists of 1,258 items.
The Guinness World Records says, "Motivated by 'Masterful Manifestors,' she started a YouTube channel in October 2020 to share her joy of wind-up toys and encourage others to discover how they were young at heart."
Largest Transformers Toy
Speaking of Transformers, one of the toys under the franchise holds the world record as the largest Transformers toy. Can you guess what it is?
Released in August 2013, the largest Transformers toy is none other than the Titan-class Metroplex. The Guinness World Records notes that it stands at 24 inches tall.
Most Expensive Toy Model Car
An online auction in 2008 saw the sale of a toy model car that ended up being the most expensive as of press time.
According to the Guinness World Records, a "red and green delivery van was emblazoned with the name W E Boyce and was originally produced in the mid 1930's" fetched $35,728.

According to the Guinness World Records, Mr. Potato Head received four postal votes during the 1985 mayoral election in Boise, Idaho. Mr. Potato Head is toy first distributed by Hasbro and arguably best known as one of the characters of the "Toy Story" franchise.
