A few days back, noted tipster @evleaks had reaffirmed that the Lumia 1520 will launch alongside the Sirius phablet at Nokia's event.
"Look for Nokia Sirius to launch alongside Bandit next month," tweeted @evleaks at the time.
Rumors have been rife that Nokia will launch its first-ever phablet Lumia 1520, dubbed the "Bandit", at the event. The device will also have the distinction of being the first-ever Windows Phone 8-powered phablet.
The Lumia 1520 is speculated to tout a 6-inch 1080p display and FHD resolution. The smartphone is expected to come with GDR3 as well. Rumors also suggest that the Lumia 1520 will be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S., whereas the Verizon variant may be called the Lumia 929.
The Lumia 1520 will also pack in a large 3,400 mAh battery and will be offered in four colors: red, yellow, white, and black.
Apart from the Lumia 1520, Nokia is also expected to take the wraps off its Lumia 2520 tablet, dubbed the Sirius, which will be the company's first Windows RT tablet. The Lumia 2520 tablet is expected to feature a 10.1-inch 1080p IPS display and house a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that clocks in at 2.15GHz.
The tablet is rumored to weigh 1.3 pounds and be 0.35 inches thick. It is also expected to tout a 6.7-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss and is speculated to have a starting price tag of $499.
The tablet has leaked in a red avatar for both AT&T and sporting the Verizon logo. The Lumia 2520 is also expected to come in black.
Nokia is expected to release the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 2520 devices in time for the holiday season. Come Oct. 22, we will know what other mysterious devices the Finnish company will pull out of the hat.
