Here's Who Has Access to the Google Bard AI For Now

After testing the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot known as Google Bard with Google's 80,000 employees, the AI chatbot has its official public launch on Tuesday, March 22, as it is tested on selected people in the United Kingdom and the United States.

After gradually introducing Bard to these two countries, Google plans to expand over time to more countries and languages. They believe that it will pave the way in opening access to more people and therefore allow potential feedback from a wider range of audiences to improve their AI service.

For now, Google Bard is only accessible to these two states as Google has not released a written statement yet on what are the next possible places the AI chatbot shall be introduced next.

The Features of Bard — What's in It?

Bard essentially helps its users create their writing assignments such as essays and poems. It can similarly guide its users to craft specific taglines for business, can answer questions, generate computer codes on command, and can be even used to have informative conversations on any subject.

To clarify, Bard is neither a replacement for Google search nor a replacement for Assistant and Google's other AI bot. As dated, Google revealed Bard last February as a response to the huge success of its rival AI chatbot Microsoft-backed ChatGPT which has a major focus on conversational questions and answers.

Al Jazeera in their post remarked, that, unlike Microsoft-backed ChatGPT, Bard can access and process information from the real world through Google Search.

Consequently, Bard has been under development for eight years by Google and is exclusively powered by LaMDA, also known as Language Model for Dialogue Applications technology which is also included in one of the research breakthroughs of Google. Whereas Microsoft-backed ChatGPT is directly powered by GPT-3.5 also known as Generative Pre-Trained Transformer.

How to Use Google Bard AI Chatbot

During the launching of Bard, the people who wish to play with Bard can visit its website, bard.google.com to sign on to a waiting list. In signing to the website, the user must use an active Google account.

Upon successful login, the user can converse with Bard as much as he wants for there are no limits on the number of daily chats. However, it is not clear how long the waitlist is until the user can grant access.

Yet the article Digital Trends, says that it will not take more than a few days to receive access. There is also an alleged issue indicating that someone can get easy access right away if belonged to the subscribers of Google One.

Overall, according to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge using the power, knowledge, and creativity of their very own language models.

As one of the persons behind Big Tech companies, Pichai deems that AI is the "most profound technology" they should work on today. The reason they re-oriented the company with AI is that they see it as the most important way they can accomplish their mission, and that is to organize the world's information making it universally accessible and useful.
