7 Most Powerful Mutants in the X-Men Movie Franchise

The last X-Men movie released was "Dark Phoenix" back in June 2019, which you can watch on Disney+ or Amazon Video. Although it has been a while since a film from the franchise has been released, it still has a rather huge fanbase. It has given us amazing characters, after all. Here are a few of the most powerful mutants in the franchise.

1. Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix

A lot of actresses have played the character, with the most notable ones done by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. In both portrayals, we have seen how powerful Jean Grey can be. She has psionic powers, shown in the form of telekinesis and telepathy.

She is on top of the list because Famke Janssen's Jean Grey managed to kill Professor X, while Sophie Turner defeated the all-powerful mutant Apocalypse. Her telepathic abilities rivaled Charles Xavier's and her powers were too great for Apocalypse to compete.

2. Apocalypse/En Sabah Nur

It's no secret that the man is a powerful mutant. He gained powers throughout his existence that ultimately led to him having immortality, superhuman strength and speed, teleportation powers, flight ability, telekinesis, and more. Not to mention, he can also enhance the powers of others. Still, he was defeated by Jean (with the help of others), so it appears that he wasn't invincible.

3. Charles Xavier/Professor X

There's a reason why Charles Xavier is one to be feared. What can a person do when he has lost control of his own actions? It was shown in the movies how Charles can easily let a person do anything through telepathy, such as rendering Sebastian Shaw immobile in "X-Men: First Class."

4. Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto

Although one would argue that Magneto is only powerful because of the abundance of man-made metallic materials present in the world, "X-Men: Apocalypse" proved that he was capable of way more. Apocalypse showed him that he can control the metal on the ground too.

Before he even learned that he was capable of that, he could stop bullets, levitate ships, and render firearms useless by easily crumpling them. As if those weren't enough, he was given the power of terraforming as well.

5. Logan/Wolverine

Before Adamantium was bonded with his skeleton, he may not have made it to this list. However, the metal alloy is the strongest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even more so than Vibranium. He also had the power to quickly heal, which gives him a huge advantage when it comes to combat.

6. Sebastian Shaw

Sebastian Shaw has the power to absorb energy, more specifically, thermal and nuclear. He can then use it as his own strength or disperse it toward an enemy. Sure, that can be a useful power when you're against mutants like Havoc or Cyclops, but we all know how things turned out when Magneto and Professor X fought against him.

7. Havoc

Havoc is able to emanate concentrated plasma beams from his body. Unlike younger brother Cyclops, his ability is actually less controlled and can get quite destructive when there's no tool to direct it. When it comes to directed beams though, Cyclops takes the cake.
