AT&T and T-Mobile bound LG G Flex appears at the FCC

The self-healing and curved display LG G Flex has made its way through the FCC with LTE bands that support AT&T and T-Mobile's 4G LTE networks.

Samsung may have released its flexible display Galaxy Round first, but LG is about to introduce its curved smartphone to more parts of the world. Samsung has only released the Galaxy Round in Korea, which is believed to be the result of low yield rates for the flexible display. LG doesn't seem to be having any manufacturing issues and will be releasing the smartphone to multiple countries.

We recently reported that the LG G Flex was rumored to launch AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the near future. It looks like those claims were true, as the LG G Flex has made an appearance at the FCC and the smartphone's LTE bands show the handset as supporting both AT&T's LTE Band 17 and T-Mobile's LTE Band 4.

The LG G Flex features a 6-inch curved 1280 x 720 OLED display with a pixel density of 245 pixels per inch (ppi) and it's running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It's powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU).

LG ships the G Flex with 32GB of internal storage (no microSD expansion slot) and 2GB of RAM. The handset is also packing in a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and the ability to record 1080p video @60fps, as well as a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and self shots. Its wireless connectivity options include 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (low energy), GPS, and NFC. The smartphone uses a non-removable 3,500 mAh battery.

In addition to the fact that the LG G Flex is able to bend from top-to-bottom, LG has created a very cool self-healing feature for the smartphone's rear case. The self-healing feature works by allowing the smartphone to repair any small scratches tha normally occur from everyday use. It will not be able to repair itself from large scratches, however, but that feature is probably coming in the future as LG is heavily invested in this new technology.

It remains unclear for now when the LG G Flex will make its way to U.S. shores, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.
