Meta has since become one of the social media platforms where content creators go to post short-form videos. Through Reels, users can make quick clips they can monetize, which is now easier as Meta released new features that streamline the process of editing videos.
New Facebook Reels Features
Facebook Reels now has both new features and tools that can help with both coming up with new ideas and creating them easily. Creators can now scan through Meta's Inspiration Hub to get an idea about what kind of content they could post.
The new section can be found in the Professional Dashboard which contains popular reels, hashtags, topics, and music, giving creators an idea of what kind of content people want to see, or which hashtags and topics attract the most views.
Meta has also added a Template Hub, which can be found in the Reels Composer. Through this tool, creators can use ready-made video formats to post videos. All they have to do is provide the material and choose between the trending templates provided by Facebook.
If a user decides to personalize the editing of their own video, Meta has also added new settings that give a creator more control over the audio of the video. In one editing screen, audio, music, as well as text can be layered and adjusted throughout the clip.
For example, a creator can add background music as soon as the clip starts, and then add an additional audio four seconds in. This also works for texts, where users can type in a caption and decide when it will pop up in the Reel.
Since Meta is already testing out a way for users to cross-post between Facebook and Instagram, they will be able to publish a Reel on both platforms for a wider reach, much faster. With the Performance bonus, the more views a user attracts, the more they earn.
Since a lot of creators also rely on advertising to earn a profit, Facebook has toned down its partnership and eligibility requirements, which may make it more difficult for them to partner with advertisers. Users can now allow brands to run ads from their Facebook Page.
Account Settings Suited for Content Creators
Previously, creators will have to create separate accounts for both personal content pages. Since Professional mode was introduced back in October 2022, the personal profile they have on Facebook can also be used to connect with fans and viewers.
Facebook users can subscribe to the creator when Professional mode is applied to the account. As posted Reels become more noticed, they would end up on the "Suggested for You" page on Facebook, all while sending the creator notifications about their most popular posts.
The mode also allows US creators to apply to Reels Play on Facebook, which is a bonus program that lets them earn money for the Reels they share. Stars are now more available to eligible users, which makes it possible to earn a profit directly from fans.
