Twitch is now slowly adapting the TikTok-style of browsing content by adding a new vertically-scrolling feed called discovery feed.
Twitch Discovery Feed
Twitch has already started rolling out the new feature to some of its selected users starting August 22. While these select users are able to utilize the vertical feed, the videos are still shown on a horizontal format which put a lot of blank space on the feed.
Regardless, Twitch assured that users will be able to see vertical clips "as the feed evolves." Last August 8, the platform introduced the featured clips which allow creators to mark the clips that they want to add on their featured pool. The popular and featured clips will still be under experimentation before Twitch switches to exclusively featured clips.
Twitch Joins Other Companies in New Feed Format
Twitch is not the only one in this adaptation as Spotify, Amazon, and Reddit have already made their own versions of TikTok-like feed on their platform. Last July, Twitch also promised that they are working to support direct exports to TikTok making it easier for streamers to cross post their content.
In addition, Twitch has also announced its plans to bring stories to the platform making it more similar to other top social media apps. Twitch has over 140 million monthly active users with 7.58 million active streamers as of the moment.
