HTC unveils new HTC One Max in black color option

HTC has a new color option for its first phablet, the HTC One Max, as a new black model of the device has appeared on the company's website.

The company saw strong sales of the 4.7-inch HTC One when it launched the aluminum-clad smartphone, as consumers seemed to appreciate the attention to design HTC showed with its flagship. HTC followed up by bringing a smaller 4.3-inch HTC One Mini to the market, targeting consumers who wanted a smaller, more affordable version of the larger smartphone. The company kept many of the features that made the HTC One a big hit when it unveiled the One Mini. It used the same aluminum unibody enclosure, UltraPixel camera, and front facing stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound.

HTC then followed up with another smartphone, plunging into the phablet market by launching the company's first phablet - the 5.9-inch HTC One Max. As expected, it did not change the design with the larger smartphone and outfitted it with the same aluminum case used in the HTC One and the One Mini. The company has just posted a new image of the HTC One Max in a color other than the silver option we've seen since its launch. On HTC Hong Kong's official website, there is now a new black version of the One Max. When HTC first launched the HTC One in the U.S., it offered the handset in choice of silver or black, and it looks like the company will be adding the black option to the One Max as well in the near future.

As a reminder, the HTC One Max features a 5.9-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD display, runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and uses a new version of HTC Sense 5.5. The phablet is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. It ships with 32GB of internal storage and users will be able to add additional memory through a microSD expansion slot and the 50GB of free Google Drive space HTC includes with the device.

The handset also features an HTC UltraPixel rear camera that can record Full HD video and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Its wireless connectivity options include 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (LE), GPS, and NFC. HTC ships the One Max with a non-removable 3,300 mAh battery.

HTC hasn't announced when or what markets it will be bringing the new black HTC One Max to, but we'll be sure to update you as soon as we have more information.
